The Puggy Chrome extension records QA sessions directly from the browser. It captures screen video, screenshots, network activity — including live WebSocket traffic — console output, user interactions, and optional accessibility or performance data. Recorded sessions can upload automatically to the console when the user is authenticated, or export locally as a ZIP archive.

What you use it for

  • Sign in to Puggy.
  • Choose the organization where new sessions should upload.
  • Pick a capture tab — Session, Video, or Shot — for the kind of evidence you need.
  • Select current-tab or window/screen capture.
  • Toggle tab audio and microphone capture.
  • Set a pre-recording countdown so you have time to prepare.
  • Enable interaction capture.
  • Start, pause, resume, and stop recordings.
  • Capture full visible screenshots or selected regions.
  • Use the on-screen dock to switch capture modes, annotate, blur content, and trigger captures from the page.
  • Trigger recording and screenshot actions with keyboard shortcuts.
  • Adjust capture defaults and switch accounts from the Settings screen.
  • Send feedback to the Puggy team without leaving the browser.
  • Review the session locally while upload finishes.

Capture modes

The popup opens on three tabs. Choose the one that matches the evidence you need, then start capturing.

Session

Use the Session tab when you need the full picture — video, network logs, console output, and user interactions — for a complete reproduction flow.

Video

Use the Video tab when a screen recording is the point and you want a lighter capture focused on what’s on screen.

Shot

Use the Shot tab when a still image is enough. Capture the visible area or drag to select a region, then annotate to explain the issue.

Upload behavior

When you are signed in, Puggy uploads sessions to the selected organization. Keep the local viewer open until upload status is clear, especially for long recordings or large evidence sets. Switch the destination organization anytime from the Settings screen.
