The on-screen dock keeps Puggy controls available on the page you are testing. Use it when you want to start recording, capture screenshots, annotate the page, or blur sensitive content without reopening the extension popup. Puggy on-screen dock in Session mode

Show the dock

Enable On-screen handler in the extension popup before starting a capture. The dock appears on the active page and can be dragged to a different position. Use the drag handle on the left side of the dock to move it. Use the close button on the right side to hide it.

Switch capture mode

The Mode control opens a menu with three capture options: Puggy dock mode switcher Changing mode from the dock updates the same capture preference used by the extension popup.

Recording controls

When the dock is in session or video-only mode, use the recording controls to:
  • Start recording.
  • Stop recording.
  • Pause or resume recording.
  • Take a screenshot during the recording.
  • Capture an accessibility report when the feature is enabled.
  • Toggle tab audio and microphone capture.
The timer shows the elapsed recording time. Screenshot and accessibility counts are not shown in the dock.

When the dock is in screenshot mode, use the screenshot controls to: Puggy on-screen dock in Screenshot mode
  • Capture the visible area.
  • Select and capture a region.
  • Annotate the page before capture.
  • Blur page elements before capture.
The dock and selector borders are hidden during screenshot capture, but live annotations and blurred elements remain visible in the captured image.

Annotate the page

Use the annotation tool to draw directly on the page. The annotation toolbar includes:
  • Pen
  • Marker
  • Text
  • Eraser
  • Color selection
  • Clear annotations
Annotations are applied as a live page overlay, so they are captured in screenshots and recordings.

Blur sensitive content

Use the blur tool to hide sensitive page content before recording or taking a screenshot.
  1. Click the blur button.
  2. Hover the page and click the element you want to blur.
  3. The selected element is blurred immediately.
  4. The blur selector turns off after the click.
Click the blur button again to blur or unblur another element. Use the reset button to clear all blurred elements.
If you blur content before starting a recording, the blur remains active when recording starts and is captured in the video.

Tooltips

Every dock button has a tooltip. Hover or focus a control to confirm what it does before clicking.
